Rumor: Nintendo Switch Has 720p, Multi-Touch Screen

Not a powerful screen, but perhaps functional.

Nintendo has gone silent (more or less) on details regarding the Switch, until a presentation on the 12 of January next year, but that doesn't mean details aren't trickling in... both from other developers, Nintendo itself, and of course, rumors and speculation. And let me tell you, there has been a buzz of both surrounding the latest Nintendo console, only some of it credible.

But this latest bit of news, pried from a source over at Eurogamer, seems to be one of the more reliable rumors.

This unknown source has claimed that the Nintendo Switch's portable screen would be a touch screen--not surprising. But more intriguing was their claim that this screen would not be a single-touch screen, the type employed by the Wii U and 3DS: rather, it would be multi-touch, like a phone, and could function as a controller on its own right, theoretically.

They also claimed this screen had a resolution of 720p and was around 6.2" in size. This... would make it a fairly weak device, all things considered, but then it can hardly be a surprise that Nintendo would prioritize convenience and price over power. Still, something to consider before getting too hyped, or pre-ordering your copy.

If you could, right now.

Which you can't.
