Rumor: Director of 'District 9' to Launch New Film on Steam

I know it's not gaming-related, but it's gaming platform-related.

Okay, so this piece of news isn't exactly game-related, but it does involve the gaming platform Steam. The South African film director Neill Blomkamp - you know, the dude who is behind "District 9" - will be launching a sci-fi short film titled Volume 1 onto Steam.

Yes, Steam. This is according to a recent tweet.

"If I sold experimental short films on @steam_games as tests for potential full feature films, would people watch them?

Neill Blomkamp (@NeillBlomkamp) April 9, 2017"

Oh, and by the way, the movie will be streamed over Steam.

I mean, Steam has been distributing films for quite some time, though the library hasn't exactly been massive. If anything, the service feels a bit half-hearted. Nevertheless, you can check out the first trailer of Volume 1 here.
