Rumor: Asus May Be Launching Its Own Gaming Phone

Good time to be a smartphone gamer?

Suddenly, gaming phones are becoming a big deal.

Seriously, remember when Sony launched its first gaming phone?

It was the Sony Experia Play or something like that. There were other gaming phones launched by Sony after, but they've never really caught on.

Perhaps Sony was ahead of its time.

Especially since there are a lot of companies now launching their own "gaming phones." There is a rumor swirling around that Asus is launching its own phone underneath the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand.

Again, take this with a grain of salt, as this has not been confirmed.

According to an inside source, Asus is preparing to launch its gaming smartphone during Computex, held in Taiwan from June 5 to June 9. We can expect a powerful beast, but we aren't aware of what the specs will be... yet. Of course, what I am most curious about is the pricing. With these prices skyrocketing on flagship phones (one reason may be the leasing programs of the major wireless carriers), I am certainly tempted to turn my attention to a cheaper, quality phone.
