Rumor: A New Mortal Kombat Title May Be Announced Soon

Here is some interesting news. Though the main events of E3 have finished and everything is winding down, we still have a few surprises to witness. And, if we are to "hmmm...." about anything (outside of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, anyway), then we may as well turn our attention to Joe Vargas (the madman behind the Angry Joe Show) and his Twitter profile, which reveals something possibly related to the next Mortal Kombat.

The text of the tweet in question, posted a couple of days ago, reads:

"ROUND 3 FIGHT!! The One & Only Ed Boon! @noobde #JOEALITY #WBgames #NewFighters"

So, does one of the hashtags, #NewFighters in particular, indicate that a new Mortal Kombat game is imminent?

Furthermore, Ed Boon, of Mortal Kombat fame, is wearing an exhibitor badge. Exhibitors typically present video game titles.

Again, hmmm...

Perhaps we will see something tomorrow. Perhaps it's the long-awaited Mortal Kombat 11? Which would be good, because 2018 is certainly the year of fighting games.

Update: Ed Boon has confirmed that a new Mortal Kombat will not be announced at E3, but I'm still holding onto the fact that it may be announced "soon."
