Sayonara UmiharaKawase--otherwise known as Yumi's Odd Odyssey--has fished up some major success in the years of its existence, especially since its rebirth on the PlayStation Vita and 3DS. Because of said success, Agatsuma Entertainment will be bringing a PC port of the 'Rubbering Action' physics-based puzzle platform game to the PC this October so PC players will get a taste of what they may have been missing out on.
Considerably easy to play but difficult to master, Sayonara UmiharaKawase is a Japanese cult classic indie title featuring 20 year old sushi-chef Umihara Kawase, equipped with only a fishing rod, rubber fishing line, and a fishing hook. Bearing a unique, 1970s Japanese visual style, our heroine must leap through the perils of fish-like enemies, conveyer belts, spikes, watery pits, time travel and more in search of challenging solutions, shortcuts, secret exits, and bonus levels.
What actually sets the game apart from typical fishing/puzzle games is the elasticity of Umihara's fishing line. The line itself wields bungee properties--success and failure are easily dependent on this aspect. With 60 new and re-envisaged classic stages, new enemy placements, four playable characters, and optimization for the PC, you're guaranteed to spend a little quality time with this masterpiece.
Sayonara UmiharaKawase will hit the Steam shelf sometime in October for $14.99/14.99/£10.99.
