- Players can change the appearances of the male and female parents, who can be sculpted in front of mirror, with witty commentary to boot. Whoever you leave the menu as is who you'll play.
- The baby will appear as a combination of both parents.
- Already appears more vibrant than Fallout: New Vegas... at least in the beginning.
- The game begins when the family you control heads to the bomb shelter after receiving a warning about the bomb detonation. Beforehand, when told to verify information, you are prompted to adjust your stats in a "registration form."
- You apparently survive and get lowered into vault. After 200 years, you emerge as the sole survivor of Vault 111. And that's just depressing.
- The environment you set into is decrepit, bringing back the Fallout flair. According to the developers, player freedom remains the absolute number one goal. That being said, players are given the freedom to rebuild homes and a town settlement by scrapping materials.
- Overall, this feature just sounds amazing. The more you build, the more traders that will arrive to lend you a hand. You can also build generators and power lines; even turrets and flamethrowers, as your settlement will be attacked by raiders and other threats. Additionally, crafting extends beyond the settlement, using various materials. You can also modify weapons, turning any weapon into something completely new and crazy (Saw-bat, anyone?). Through mixing and matching of various elements, including outfits, your game will be ultimately unique to you.
- Fallout 4 is running on next gen Creation Engine, running on dynamic volumetric lighting.
- The dialog is dynamic. You can play in first, third, or in V.A.T.S., and you can walk away whenever from events, or attack innocents as they converse with you. It doesn't matter, the world is your oyster!
- At the beginning, as expected, you find the German Shepherd mutt dog all alone. He's so friendly, cute, and adorable that you can't help but take him in! You can give him commands by pointing at things in the environment and hitting A (or whatever). Example: you can select a wrench in a shop and he will fetch it for you. He's just so eager and responsive!
- Combat is similar to Fallout 3, utilizing V.A.T.S. to slow down time and aim for each body part to take out. At the beginning look forward to large mole rats.
- Remember, this is downtown Boston, so hopefully we can look forward to the Boston aquarium or the Museum of Fine Arts! However, this game definitely feels extremely lonely, that's for sure.
- Of course you have your Pip-Boy, in the form of a mini-TV Smartwatch.
- Included in Fallout 4 is the layered armor system which you can access on Pip-Boy, and you can even play arcade games, such as Atomic Commando and an arcade title similar to Donkey Kong.
- The real surprise is that you can have your very own Pip-Boy to slip your phone in, which comes with the collector's edition. Alongside the Pip-Boy is an app that you can use to access your character and other statistics. However, you do not need the Pip-Boy for it. The app will run on iOS and Android and it releases with the game.
Fallout 4 will arrive November 10, 2015 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
As a bonus, Bethesda announced a new, separate game for the iOS App Store: Fallout Shelter. In this title, you're the overseer controlling everything to protect the survivors in the vault. This game takes back from Sim City, FTL, X-Com, and even Progress Quest. For instance, there are full stats for each person, who is designed like Pip-Boy. You can set the survivors into the wasteland, balance resources, construct training, classrooms, resource rooms, and more. You will eventually be rewarded with lunch boxes stuffed with gifts.
Accidents and attacks will occur, so you must protect your shelter. You can also grab some new dwellers by bringing people in. You can even get couples together, which would lead to pregnancy and birth of children. Fallout Shelter will be free, but with no paywall timers or required net connection! If you want more lunch boxes, however, you can purchase them, but other than that, no other charges. Better yet, it's released tonight! Depressingly and unfortunately, an Android version has not been announced.
Overall, the excitement is just beginning for E3, and so far, 2015 began off strong. Look forward to tomorrow's conferences and updates from Gamerz Unite!
