If you recall from an article last week, there were fears from an unnamed employee from Rockstar that due to company problems, the PC version of the acclaimed Grand Theft Auto V would be canceled. It was posted on a blog that was very quickly overrun by hackers who demanded Rockstar do what it had promised to do and release the game for the PC. Now, I don’t want to go ahead and condone the use of hacking, but it must have gotten the attention of somebody at Rockstar because just today a member of Rockstar’s Support Staff came forward with this announcement.
“I'm also looking forward to the PC release, however this release date has not changed. Please see our support article, Grand Theft Auto V Release Date on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and PC for the most recent information on this topic."
And according to that support article, all these updated versions will be released in “fall 2014”. For those of you keeping track, that’s soon. I’ll grant you this much: it’s unusual that Rockstar isn’t making a bigger deal about this release, considering how huge GTA V is, and even the Tomb Raider remakes and re-releases (which was considered a failure by Squre Enix) got more press than this. Still, I have no reason to doubt them, at least, not currently.
So there’s your good news for the day, I guess.
