Rise of the Tomb Raider is so action oriented and so dramatic that it's becoming difficult to wait patiently for the release. Today, during E3, the gameplay demo premiered, and it does not disappoint.
To describe the trailer: Lara begins lurking in a cave in Siberia with a flare, shivering and climbing to meet her buddy Jonah. Lara is equipped with dual pickaxes to carve through ice and climb, with intense gasping moments. She definitely knows how to climb.
Unfortunately, a powerful storm lands, causing Lara to lose her grip from and fall from the ledge. Just like the previous game, you cringe as Lara smacks into the ice wall. This point remains: she is never, EVER lucky. And this statement only prevails when she swings to the ledge again, which breaks. This creates such a tense buildup that you can find yourself biting your lip. The tension only builds more when Lara finally reaches safety, but an avalanche hits, forcing her to outrun it in search of shelter, sliding, rope-swinging, and bashing her way through anything for dear safety. She obviously succeeds, which leads to the opening of the tomb raiding gameplay fans know and love.
Look forward to the Xbox One release date of November 10, 2015.
