Anyway, that lawsuit just finished, and thankfully, its a victory for the women. In the agreed upon settlement, each lawsuit participant will receive some amount of money, which will be determined by their tenure, length and status as an employee. That money will be pulled from an extremely significant $10 million dollar pool, which means some women will be walking away from this lawsuit far richer than they started it.
The plaintiffs lawyer had this to say:
This shows that Riot is serious about changing the culture at the company we are pleased that a proposed settlement to fully resolve the class action lawsuit against Riot was filed recently by plaintiffs counsel. The settlement is another important step forward, and demonstrates our commitment to living up to our values and to making Riot an inclusive environment for the Industrys best talent.
Riot, meanwhile, linked to an article they posted earlier this year, which said this:
We made a commitment to Rioters that we would be willing to take the steps necessary to build trust and to demonstrate that were serious about Riot evolving into an excellent place to work for all Rioters.
Anyway, thats good. This is all good. Hopefully itll be made even better by Riot being a better company overall.
