Riot Games, the studio known for League of Legends, has been topping the message boards lately with the closed beta of their upcoming hero shooter Valorant. And to help with production, the studio is offering a six-digit cash reward for reporting hacks and cheats.

The studio recently posted on HackerOne, a digital security bounty board, detailing all of the ways they are looking to improve the security of Valorant. (A bounty is a cash reward offered for the discovery of bugs, exploits, or security flaws). The listing states that any accepted bounties will be rewarded with at least $250, while some more critical and severe exploits will grant as much as $100,000.

Some qualifying bounties include gameplay exploits, third party mods, private data collection, and permission escalation. To qualify, the hacker has to be able to replicate the exploit and send a clear, detailed description of the issue to Riot's bug bounty team. If the exploit is shared elsewhere before a fix is issued, it will be disqualified.

This is how many "hackers" use their skills in a legal, professional way. Often called Pen Testers (penetration testers), they make a living by getting a company's permission to try and hack their technology, giving them reports as to how they did so and how it might be fixed.

Interested in trying for yourself? You can read the full details at the HackerOne listing.

Valorant itself will release officially some time this summer. It recently held a closed beta test session, which achieved record-breaking viewership numbers on Twitch.
