Story of Seasons was a fantastic Harvest Moon-esque game that surpassed a lot of recent Harvest Moon games... in my opinion. Granted, one of the best aspects of the game was how awesome Super Mario item would pop out of the ground like fire mushrooms.

Now, it turns out that the crossover between Story of Seasons and PopoloCrois Story (a series with a game released way back on the PSP in 2005), will be hitting North American shores for the 3DS March 1. Produced by Yohsuke Tamori (PopoloCrois Story) and Yoshifumi Hashimoto (longtime producer of Story of Seasons and the ever awesome Rune Factory), Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale is a crossover that features both classic RPG gameplay and life sim aspects.

Check out the new trailer XSEED Games has released, which details the story and battle system:

It's also important to note that this game will feature both English and Japanese voice-acting. Anyway, Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale is based on the PopoloCrois Story manga (which you can find on the official site), but blends in the gameplay elements from Story of Seasons. You'll be able to raise crops in real-time, catch bucks, mine for jewels, synth items, and craft relationships alongside battling enemies in turn-based form. There will be about 100 quests to take and a 25 hour main storyline... so you'll be at the game for quite awhile.

And if you're one for StreetPass gathering, you'll be able to connect with other players to gain neat items through treasure-hunting.

Also, this game will feature FRIENDSHIP in the story!

If this all appeals to you, you can prepare for the launch of Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale on March 1, 2016 exclusively for the 3DS. You can find the game physically at retailers or digitally on the eShop for $39.99. If you want to know more about the game, you can check out the official website here.
