Resident Evil: Revelations Receives Motion Controls on Switch

They're as awkward as you can imagine.

Resident Evil: Revelations, originally released in 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS, will be bundling up with its sequel for release on Nintendo Switch on November 28.

Capcom released a trailer (seen below) showing off some of the upcoming changes they've made to the games, namely motion controls. When playing in docked mode (on a TV) the player is able to make various hand gestures to indicate what action they would like to perform. Flicking the remote to shoot, or swinging it to swipe your knife for a melee strike may seem like a fun idea, but Nintendo has a history of motion controls falling flat.

Since the release of the Wii, Nintendo games have been implementing motion controls in order to zest up their games. When Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was released, the idea of swinging the remote to swing the sword sounded amazing. The luster quickly wore off, and battles consisted of my violently wiggling my remote whenever I wanted to strike. It is all too likely that Resident Evil: Revelations 1 and 2 will meet this same fate.

You can get Resident Evil: Revelations and Resident Evil: Revelations 2 for Nintendo Switch on November 28. They will cost $19.99 each.
