About two weeks ago, Capcom announced that they would be releasing both a demo for the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake and an open beta for their spin-off multiplayer game. The open beta was set to release publicly on March 27. Unfortunately, Capcom later announced that only the Xbox One version of the beta will be available,
"Unfortunately, due to some technical issues, there is a slight delay for the Resident Evil Resistance Open Beta on PS4 and Steam. The Xbox One version is unaffected and will be available as scheduled. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and will keep you updated on its availability. We sincerely apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience."
Currently, Capcom has not said when this beta might become available on PC and PS4. The Xbox One open beta is expected to run until April 3.
Resident Evil Resistance is a multiplayer horror game. Asymmetrical, one player controls a mastermind character as they operate and unveil traps and dangers that the other four players have to work together to escape from.
Resistance combines the "reach the end of as a team" akin to Left 4 Dead with the 1v4 horror of Dead by Daylight. While the idea sounds interesting, whether the game is good or not will come down to how enjoyable the gameplay itself is.
