"Set within the sinister plantation house in Dulvey, Louisiana, the Baker family, including Jack and Marguerite, were residents but no-one has seen or heard from them in a while. Where could they be? One thing is clear in the latest content to be shown from the game - there's something not quite right within the plantation. Who is the mysterious girl in the gameplay? What does Marguerite want with her?"
So, the demo was more than just a raw example of what they're creating: it actually seems to tie into the plot. if so, this would be the most radical departure from the original Resident Evil games since... ever, really. Even the first games had combat and a third-person perspective, this is far more like Amnesia, Slender, and the cavalcade of "powerless heroes running from powerful foes" horror titles they have inspired. Granted, Capcom did say there would be combat, and the demo did have an axe you can swing around, but... still, compared to the volcano shootouts of Resident Evil 5, the tone here is very, VERY different.
...Granted, this lantern lady could use a lesson or two about stalking from the Alien, because behind boxes and broken walls are terrible hiding spots. Then again, if I could teleport in the darkness, I guess I wouldn't worry too much about catching my captives either.
Whatever. January 24th, 2017, we can match wits with this crazy old lady ourselves.
