Resident Evil 7 was arguably one of the shining gems of this year's E3. There, players got the first look at a much needed (PT inspired) change to the franchise's formula. Also, the announcement launched alongside a demo, so that we could all enjoy it. Gamers from all over played it multiple times to take advantage of everything the demo had to offer. This included multiple paths, new visuals, and a myriad of items. One of those items, a dummy's finger, seemingly had no purpose whatsoever. Players spent hours trying to figure out what to do with it to no avail. It was only there to fill up inventory space. That is, until now.

Months after the first gameplay trailer.

It's not just that some savvy gamer genius figured out what to do with the finger. Actually, Capcom just went ahead and updated the demo. So, basically, it literally had no use before. But keep in mind, I said it wasn't just some savvy gamer genius. Using the finger itself is a long, complicated, and crazy process. But don't despair, Reddit comes to the rescue again with a 34 step guide on the finger puzzle. So you may want to check that out if the missing puzzle has forced you to lose sleep since E3.
