So, something strange happened today. Red Dead Revolver, created for the PS2 back in 2004 by Rockstar Games, was seen remastered on the Australian PlayStation store today. It was priced at $22.95 in Australia, which is roughly $15 in the US. This was completely unannounced by Rockstar and surprised a lot of players. So what happened here? I'm assuming it was a big mistake and Rockstar messed up. The game has now been removed from the PlayStation store and people's minds are swirling. We might be seeing the game back on the store eventually, but the fact that it was released without being announced and then taken right off the market makes me believe that this was just an "oopsie."
Oh 2004, look how far we've come.
This leads into some new questions though: could the release of Red Dead Revolver for PS4 mean that there may be a Red Dead Redemption remake coming? Ideas of a Red Dead Redemption game for next-gen consoles has been floating around for quite some time. The game was fantastic when it first came out and many players have been begging for a remade version. Hopefully, Rockstar delivers and gives us some updates in the next few days about what their plans are for the future and what happened with the Red Dead Revolver mistake.
