Games hold many secrets deep within their code. And it brings many questions with it. In this case, data miners have discovered files for a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller in the Red Dead Redemption 2 files.
Rockstar Games data miner Tez2 recently posted an image on Twitter, depicting a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller in Red Dead Redemption 2's familiar sketch style. Their claim is that the file was found amongst the game's files.
This has sparked a discussion as to whether or not the hit 2018 RPG would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Many folks say "no," believing that the game struggles to perform well, even on PCs. They don't believe that the game will be able to run reliably on the Nintendo Switch hardware.
Others think that this is a logical step for the game. The Nintendo Switch has become a game-changer for the game industry, pushing Nintendo back to the top. While the hardware doesn't quite compare to other consoles, we're seeing a number of games being released on the platform due to its popularity, such as Skyrim, Doom, and Rocket League.
It's perfectly possible that the image was added as a precaution, just in case. It's also possible that the PC version of the game will support a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller plugged into PC, and this image will be used for that. The fact of the matter is that we have no definitive answer at this time. Stay tuned.
