Red Barrels Has Started an Adult Diaper Kickstarter For Gamers

I don't even know what to say.

This is one of the weirdest things that I've seen in a long time, and that's saying a lot. Red Barrels, the developer of the Outlast games, have just started a brand new Kickstarter campaign for diapers that are being called "Underscares." They are being produced to launch alongside Outlast 2 and will apparently be used while playing the game in case you become too frightened and poop your pants. Now, I've played many, many horror games and while my heartbeat has gotten pretty quick at times, I can absolutely promise you that I've never had a "fear poop".

The campaign has raised $8,200 out of its $29,600 goal, and I can't believe it. Their little Kickstarter slogan is, "You shat, we listened. Introducing Underscares, the Outlast 2 companion diaper. Because when youre scared, #2 can become problem #1." The diapers feature a mesh backing for butt protection and poop storage, a nightlight around the waist, flexible material, and abrasion resistant fabric.

I seriously can't tell if they're doing this because they're genuinely concerned or if this is just to hype up the game a little bit. I mean, this doesn't seem like a legitimately great idea here. In the slogan it says, "You shat, we listened." What does that mean? Was the company receiving emails from players saying that their fight-or-flight kicked in mid-game and they crapped on their sofa? I played Outlast, and aside from a couple of cheap jump scares, I wasn't that impressed!

Best of luck to Red Barrels, I guess. Also, if you happened to poop yourself while playing a horror game, I have some advice. Don't buy a diaper. Just stop playing horror games. They're not your thing. Maybe go pick up something a little less high-stress.
