Ratchet and Clank, as a series, is amazing. There has been a lot of hype surrounding the reboot, and on release date, it was competing with Dark Souls III. So just how well did it do? Pretty well, I should say. According to Insomniac Games via Twitter update:

"Thank you, Ratchet and @PlayStation fans, for making Ratchet & Clank the fastest selling game in franchise history."

This spells such good news for a couple of major reasons:

One, the reboot is downright amazing. It does improve on the gameplay (which is surprising) and adds some neat extra goodies. I've been writing a review for it, which should be available by the end of this weekend.

Two, this means other 3D platforming games that we know it love may get some reboot love. Other companies take note.

We want Jak & Daxter, Crash Bandicoot... and more. So hint hint? If the money is there... why not? I personally can't wait for the second game in the series, but it's also important to keep in mind that the Ratchet & Clank movie is in Theaters today, which the game is based off of (in turn, the movie is based on the game).

Still, we have no idea how many copies have sold, but I suppose we will have to wait until the reports release.
