If you guessed Ubisoft, you're correct. And just recently they were in hot water over Might and Magic Heroes VII. Well this time around, it's about Rainbow Six Siege, which has been available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. According to Ubisoft, originally Terrorist Hunt was going to be made available offline, though the majority of the game would be online and multiplayer. It's just that if you wanted to play the mode solo, you would have been given AI partners to help you through.
Apparently, that was complete bull. The statement was, in the end, entirely misleading.
Check it out (Thanks to Pixel Dynamo for compiling the info):
Hello everyone!
The creative vision for Rainbow Six Siege has always been strongly focused on a compelling cooperative and mutliplayer experience. The game supports solo play when playing Terrorist Hunt offline & online and we will provide further details on single-player content in the near future.
Thanks for all your support!

A Ubisoft Support Manufacturer on Amazon also confirmed this:
Thanks for your question.
Yes, you can play Rainbow Six Siege offline vs AI in game modes such as 'Terrorist Hunt'. All of the Terrorist Hunt modes can be tackled solo as well, although difficulty will not scale down for you and, of course, you'll still have only one life. Here is a link with more information about this: https://blog.ubi.com/rainbow-six-siege-single-player-situations/. Hope this helps answer your question!
Yet, when the game was released, an Ubisoft community manager had this to say:
"An internet connection is required to play Terrorist Hunt mode. I will pass [a]long your desire to see it as an offline mode as well! Currently only situations and custom mutliplayer matches are available offline."
Does this exactly matter for people? I mean, the fact that Ubisoft went back on their word is more than annoying and disappointing, that's for sure, but as for the issue itself...
Then again, I lost my net connection for about a day recently, so the fact that I feel I can't play a game at all is rather bumming. Sure, I could wait, but if I lose net for a bit and can't work or something when it's 11:00 PM, I definitely would like to sit down with a game and relax with it.
Anyway, this could have been the result of miscommunication. What do you think? If that's the case, maybe employees need to start confirming what they want to say with the company before the statements are released to the public.
