It's been an exciting week in the game industry, but let's not forget about another highly anticipated title: Rage 2. The action-packed, open-world shooter had a new trailer at the Game Awards this year, revealing the game's release date.

The trailer highlights the open-world nature of the game, flying from location to location on the map, focusing on the diverse gameplay at each. It does a great job of encompassing the ridiculous but brutal mantra of the game. It then concludes with the official Rage 2 release date, May 14, 2019.

The over-the-top style of Rage 2 is a less serious approach than in the first game. It's nothing new to Avalanche, the studio working with id Software to develop the title. Avalanche is also the team behind the recently released Just Cause 4, the latest in a line of games boasting outrageous possibility.

Rage 2 will release on May 14, 2019, for PC and PlayStation 4.
