Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was the last Quake game of recent memory. It was released in 2007. Nine years after the fact, and the Quake well has been bone dry since. As contradictory as it seems, QuakeCon has continued on. It has grown into the biggest annual LAN party event with company announcements ever. But the world gets to make a little more sense again. Because, as we all remember, Bethesda showed off Quake Champions at this year's E3.
A symphony of violence
This isn't a surprising move. Doom did pretty well with its resurrection trick. Quake is a fondly remembered classic FPS. I myself have a wide collection of memories of the game. Hell, my dad played it until the cartridge broke. Now, Quake Champions was literally just announced at E3, so there's no way it will have a solid place on the LAN floor. But it's pretty much a sure thing that Bethesda is going to be showing off some gameplay. QuakeCon 2016 with a new Quake. Just like old times.
