Quakecon 2009 Recap

Well, QC 09 has come and past and we gleaned a few new details, although much was still kept secret from us such as any new details on Doom 4 which won't even be shown until Quakecon 2010. That was a big let down but one must press on. Below are some of my notes from Quakecon;

  • Wolfenstein debuts soon (Launch Trailer can be seen on wolfenstein.com)
  • Brand new Doom 2 Episode was playable at QC and coming soon.
  • Doom RPG for iPhone
  • WET Playable Demo
  • Brink Announced
  • Wolfenstein RPG Coming Soon to iPhone
  • Brand new RAGE Trailer
  • No engine changes due to ID/Bethesda merger
  • No pressure to push games out like EA
  • Doom 2 RPG Coming Soon
  • iPhone games will have WiFi multiplayer capability

The most interesting and cool thing I saw at QC was the new Doom 2 episode. It appears as if it will come out on both the PC and Xbox 360 which is great and sports a multiplayer component. The game Brink looks like it might be interesting as well but there wasn't much detail on it.
