Quake Champions has been in closed beta for quite some time, and although there has been limited gameplay footage, anybody who's at all interested in it has gotten a chance to play it by now. Back in the day, Quake was one of the biggest competitive games out there, and with the release of Quake Champions, we may just see Quake return to the forefront of eSports.
With QuakeCon quickly approaching, player's are practicing hard in preparation for the first Quake Champions tournament that's taking place at this years QuakeCon. Quake Champions is still in closed beta, but to give players more of a chance to practice, Bethesda is conducting a "large scale tech test" this Friday until the 21st of the May, giving players plenty of chance to get comfortable before the tournament. The competition will feature both Duel mode and the newly announced 4v4 mode, Sacrifice.
The qualifiers begin in June, so make sure to assemble your team, clear your calendars, and get nice and comfy with your best Quake Champions loadout before the mayhem begins. Even if you haven't played the beta thus far, there will be no excuses come this Friday. Sign up, get in the game, and get your hands dirty. Figuratively of course. Clean your keyboard and mouse if that's actually the case.
