Turns out rumors can prove to be real once in awhile! It was hinted at not long ago that a Quake title was in the works (which made sense considering the recent release of DOOM), and the trailer today at Bethesda's E3 showing only confirmed the existence of the FPS. The responses on Twitch are quite fascinating; people are crying both RIP COD and Battlefield 1.
It's titled Quake Champions, and it's a competitive arena-style multiplayer-shooter suited for all experiences. Best of all, Quake Champions will be running at 120hz with unlocked framerates, but Hines has mentioned that the title will be for PC. I guess there will be a no show for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Moving forward, unique, badass characters will be diverse in attributes and abilities.
Most importantly, Quake Champions, like other Quake titles, will be designed for world-class eSports tournaments. As part of the launch of Quake Champions: Bethesda will be supporting and hosting Quake tournaments. Pretty slick and support of Bethesda, huh?
Lots of shooters are looking to release over the next 365 days, that's for certain. Look forward to more information on Quake Champions at QuakeCon 2016.
