Now, a while ago they introduced a new, super-strict anti-cheating software that not only doubled-down on cheaters and hackers, but in the process, also targeted innocent players who had done literally nothing wrong. Now, we’re all about catching hackers and cheaters, of course, but when innocent people get caught in the net it’s a little too close to the modern justice system and that realness makes us uncomfortable.
So in a recent blog post, the PUBG team apologized.
“As you know, one of our highest priorities is working towards eliminating hackers and cheaters from PUBG. We’ve made great strides in this area recently, but unfortunately sometimes we get it wrong, which was the case recently when a number of players were improperly banned and were unable to access the game for a period of time.
While we will continually work to improve these cheat detection methods, we ask for your patience on the hopefully few occasions where a false ban happens.”
By way of apology, they’re offering all those falsely affected with 20,000 BP, which would be a pretty sweet deal if it wasn’t for the fact half the time you get a chest it’s one of those crappy ones you need a key to unlock so… really, they’re just giving you the opportunity to pay for more stuff. How appropriate that a vast majority of the comments is a single, wordless middle finger.
Well said.
