Is this shovelware worth all the delays?

Back at the end of March many of us were anticipating the release of Yacht Club Games' indie 8-bit platformer Shovel Knight. The game was finally coming out after being delayed from the original September 2013 release date. March 31st came and went... and the game received another delay for some extra shovel polishing.

So why should you be interested in this game? There's been many "retro inspired" indie games... but usually only on the visual side of things. Shovel Knight unapologetically lifts gameplay from classic NES games from Capcom, Konami, and Nintendo. Part of the soundtrack was also composed by Manami Matsumae, best known as the composer on the original Mega Man. Most of all the game looks a hell of a lot of fun.

Head on over to Steam or Nintendo systems to pick up the game now... Sony and Microsoft systems get no shovel love, afterall they weren't around in the 8-bit era of gaming.
