World War III definitely changed Earth...

There are a lot of eye-catching MMOs coming out in the near feature. Just released is the martial arts MMO Blade & Soul, and another Korean MMO boasting the most versatile character creation, Black Desert Online, will be hitting Western PCs soon enough. Now, there's another game that can pique curiosities, which will soon be hitting Steam's Early Access.

The once lead artist of Diablo 3 Jang Wook Lee is launching his very first game, Trinium Wars. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, this MMORPG strives to bring a difference to the genre (hopefully it will, considering the generic qualities of MMOs nowadays). Trinium Wars' setting is quite varied, ranging from wasteland to forest that host two conflicting factions: one of them the mutant Narc, and the other Humans.

The story? Well, the Narc came to Earth in an effort to seek a new home, whereas the Humans, who had to flee the Earth following a devastating World War III, is now returning to reclaim their home.

There will be three classes offered in the game: Warrior, Ghost, and Esper. Though the Trinity will be a focus in this game (tank, healer, damage dealer), there will be a free skill system for players to dabble in that will allow for personal customization.

There is also PvE, but one of the features highlighted in the game is the Arena. After level 10, players can unlock the Arena and compete in MOBA-style fights against the opponent faction. In the future, expect the "Resource War" to be introduced, which allows for up to 1000 players to fight against each other on a single map. All they must do is to maintain their base and collect resources for their faction. So like any other MOBA, presumably.

Here are the features listed below:
  • Two unique races, Humans and Narc, featuring unique graphic styles
  • Different regions with unique environments
  • Post-apocalyptic / Sci-Fi setting
  • Base-Building mode: Players can build various buildings in their base to produce equipment, potions, and even skills
  • Player-driven economy including Auction House trading
  • Customizable UI
  • Instance missions let you transform into tanks or robots
  • Exciting PVP MOBA-style matches in special battle arenas (unlocked at level 10)
  • Faction-based PvP action for up to 1000 players in Resource War mode (unlocked at level 30)
Either way, if this is something up your alley, you can always pick it up February 17, 2016. Remember, this is in Early Access, so expect bugs and other faults to occur.
