When we first saw Pokemon Go, Nintendo showed us a very impressive video that showed people finding, catching, and trading Pokemon all around the world. And while Nintendo has certainly delivered a game that allows for finding and catching Pokemon, that last one has proven to be a little problematic. Folks simply can't swap Pokemon in the current version of the app, and while that's not exactly heartbreaking (unless you don't live near forests or water, so your supply of insect/water types are left wanting), it is a feature that is essential to the Pokemon experience--after all, how are you supposed to get that Alakazam or Golem without swappin' Pokemon the way lovers swap spit?
Fortunately, the developers behind the game, Niantic, agrees, and their CEO John Hanke told Business Insider that it'll be coming soon--perhaps it's one of the reasons the launch all around the world has been delayed?
While he wasn't clear on any other details, it's good to know they were paying enough attention to know people were missing that feature. Now if only they could add some cool generation 2 or 3 Pokemon, we'd be set.
Not generation 4 though. That generation can go suck a rock. Gen 5 is ok... I guess.
