And that’s not bad, per say: but if this was the premium Pokemon RPG we’d been waiting for, it bodes badly for future, particularly for people who are worried the “RPG-lite” system used by the mobile game is going to become the norm.
But apparently we don’t have to be worried: talking with Famitsu (and translated by Siliconera), CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara assured fans that another Pokemon game is on the way… and it’s going to be the kind of game we’ve all been waiting for.
"We want to make Pokémon fans say 'this is what I've been waiting for' by delivering a brand-new product packed with gameplay elements and plenty of new Pokémon to encounter. The game will give a good understanding of what an evolved Pokémon game looks like after it has continued to succeed the traditions of Game Freak."
So that basically means anything is on the table, but it also seems like he’s saying that we shouldn’t expect Pokemon Go to become the norm. I don’t think anyone could reasonably be worried about that, given that Ultra Sun and Moon came out well after Go and the mobile app was always designed with old-school fans in mind (hence the return to Kanto), but it’s still good to hear from the big man up top.
Pokemon Let’s Go is gonna come out November 16th.
