PlayStation VR Launch Bundle Pre-Order is Live on March 22 for $499

We North Americans have been waiting for the opportunity to pre-order the PlayStation VR, which has been labeled with the price tag of $399. Now, earlier today, it has been confirmed that the PlayStation VR will finally go on pre-order March 22 at 7AM PDT/10AM EST... But this is with a catch. You'll only be able to pre-order the "extras" launch bundle, which will include the headset, headphones, game demo disc, two PlayStation Move controllers, and a PlayStation Camera for $499. This is somewhat of a bargain, but only for those that don't already own the PlayStation Camera and the PlayStation Move controllers.

Even more unfortunate is the announcement of the pre-order status of the original $399 bundle. The core bundle, which only includes the headset, headphones, cables, and demo disc, will not be available for pre-order, at least for a little while.

"The core PS VR bundle, which has a suggested retail price of $399.99 USD / $549.99 CAD, is not available for pre-order. When would it be available? Maybe sometime in the future, or never. If you're afraid that you'll be unable to secure a PlayStation VR headset of your very own, it might be best to temporarily pre-order the launch bundle until the core bundle shows up."
