Virtual Reality has not yet gone mainstream, mostly due to developer and hardware costs, as well as the overall quality of games, but since the PlayStation VR launched last year, it's managed to do even better than Sony had ever anticipated. The PlayStation VR Headset has recently surpassed 1 million units sold, thanks to the recent announcement of Farpoint, an upcoming sci-fi shooter. The PlayStation VR headset is the cheapest VR headset on the market right now, and because of that, along with its easy compatibility with the PS4, makes it the best entry level VR headset at the moment.
1 million units sold in the span of a year is definitely not an amazing achievement compared to consoles as a whole, but for VR, it's definitely a decent start.
