PlayStation Plus to Soon Introduce Vote to Play for Monthly Freebies

Grow Home may have slipped too...

Dear PlayStation Plus users,

Do you scoff at each month's selection of free games? Do you harbor a distaste for August's lineup of freebies? Have a better idea of what you'd like? Insist you'd rather eat a gym sock than see one more disliked lineup?

Well, you can also cancel PS Plus altogether. Supposedly you can do that if you dislike the lineup that much.

No, this isn't some terrible infomercial slapped together. PlayStation Plus is finally giving PlayStation 4 users a bit more power by introducing the "Vote to Play" feature, spotted by a NeoGaf user. Soon to arrive at a screen near you, Vote to Play will reveal three potential freebie titles. Only one, however, can be the chosen.

The game with the most votes will become the freebie of the month. The runner-ups, however, will receive a discount as a consolation prize. There's a video that describes the program more in-depth, which can be found smack dab in the "What's New" section of the PlayStation 4 dashboard. There's currently no start date for the voting, but it can be perceived that the voting will start later this month in time for September's free games. Unfortunately, this seems to be available only in the UK, but this could appear in North America as well.

As an additional tidbit of news, the options for September appear to be Zombie Vikings, Armello, or Grow Home, but then again, this is a demo video, so maybe it may not be the best idea to get our hopes up.
