PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds took 2017 by storm when it released in March. The Battle Royale genre of games is becoming increasingly popular due to its launch and embrace from players worldwide. Now the title is looking to take Xbox One by the same horns it started with.

When you purchase an Xbox One X any point after this Sunday, you will also receive a download code for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on Xbox One, according to an announcement by Microsoft. The promotion starts on Sunday, December 17, and it will last until the 31st. This deal is only for "select regions," so you will have to confirm with your retailer that it's available.

This is the first time that the Xbox One X has an official bundle. Since its release on November 7, it has only been sold as a standalone product.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds released on Xbox One on December 12, since then there have been a number of performance issues with the console port. While running it on an Xbox One X helps, the problems remain. Take precaution if you're wanting to jump right into the battle royale experience.
