PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has taken the gaming community by storm since it's initial release to Steam early access roughly a week ago. Since it's launch, it has quickly become the top selling game on Steam and also the communities new favorite battle royale/multiplayer online arena survival (MOSA) game. It offers a much more realistic and strategic battle royale experience compared to its competitors.
Since Battlegrounds is a fresh game, players are still figuring out how the game works, including interesting strategies. Battlegrounds has become hugely popular on streaming platforms such as Twitch and Youtube. Recently a YouTuber named SirLance and his partner figured out an interesting new strategy that's become strangely common since its discovery. Players have been winning matches by hiding in flipped cars. Since most people would assume that a flipped car means somebody crashed and exited the vehicle, nobody would think to go prone and check if anybody is still in the vehicle.
Lance23 figured out this cheese strat by accidently flipping his car on route to a bunker and staying inside instead of exiting like people usually would. For 20 minutes Lance and his partner sat in the flipped car, even scoring a kill upside down at one point. Eventually, they had to exit the vehicle because of the forcefield that narrows the playing field towards the end of the match. Due to avoiding combat for so long, they were in a great position to kill the remaining players without receiving much damage. After Lance's discovery, many players have been copying his new found strategy.
Though many players got away with this strategy when it was relatively unknown, players have now caught on and started to check flipped over cars, just like omnomanom does below:
You can definitely still try this strategy, but I wouldn't recommend going AFK while you do it. Players are catching on fast, and I don't think it'll be viable for much longer. You can also try doing rooftop car flanks like Headlessturt1e:
