Pirates Of The Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales has ironically been stolen by what could be described as pirates of the internet: hackers. According to Deadline, the new Pirates Of The Caribbean, coming to theaters May 24th, may not be coming to theaters at all.

Hackers have stolen one of the most anticipated releases of the summer and are demanding an enormous amount of money (paid in bitcoin) for its safe return. If their demands are not met, they will release the movie in increments online, for everyone to watch and download. Disney has not commented on the matter other than confirming that it indeed has happened. The studio is obviously refusing to pay and is currently working with the FBI at the moment.

While this could be a huge loss of profit for Disney and the production studios involved, If we know one thing about Captain Jack Sparrow, it's that he's pretty good at getting out of tight situations. We'll follow up with this story as more information is presented.
