Phantom Dust Remake Comes Out Tomorrow, Free

That's a bit of a shock, to say the least.

Phantom Dust! Does the name ring a bell? If you’re a fan of old Xbox-vanilla classics, then you’ll know it was an action-adventure title that didn’t sell well despite having a pretty good reputation and reviews. You might also be familiar with the name if you were around in 2014, where Microsoft announced it would be re-released for the Xbox 360, something that… didn’t really happen. Radio silence made people assume that Bill Gate’s baby dropped the project like a sack of moldy potatoes, but in a surprise tweet by Aaron Greenburg, he revealed that not only had the re-make not been canceled, it was going to be released “tomorrow” for the Xbox One and Windows 10, absolutely free.

...alright then!

For being such a fan favorite, and for being such a great deal, it’s a little surprising this would just come out of left field. It might be because Microsoft doesn’t have much faith in the project, or because they thought making it a total surprise would make bigger waves. There are only two things we know for sure: the game will have microtransactions (but no progression-type stuff, as the director assures us), and these are the minimum specs:

• OS: Windows 10 64-bit
• Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E6550 @ 2.33GHz | AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5600+
• Memory: 1 GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 | AMD Radeon HD 7750
• DirectX: Version 11
• Network: Broadband Internet connection

Are you excited? Surprised? I’m a bit of both, to be honest, but let’s see how it looks before we start dancing in the street. After all, this is kind of fishy…
