We’ve already been introduced to one of Firaxis’s new DLC civilizations when we caught a sneak peek at Australia last month, and now, almost exactly one month later, Firaxis has revealed the second DLC civilization to join the ranks of Civilization 6: an old classic returns as Persia enters the fray.

Lead by Cyrus ll “The Great”, Persia, like everyone else, has a unique unit and tile. The former is the Immortal, a ranged unit with strong melee defenses. The latter, the Pairidaeza, provides culture, gold, and appeal, with bonuses for adjacent districts and city centers. You also get extra movement for your units and suffer less diplomatic penalties when you launch a surprise war on people.

Like Australia, Persia will be free for anyone with the digital deluxe version of the game, although how much he’ll cost by himself has yet to be unveiled, or how much it’ll all cost. Still, for people hoping for a conquest victory, you could do worse than a mobile, yet charming threat like Persia.
