If you're an active member of the Super Smash Bros community, you know how much a controller matters. Many players, recreational or professional, firmly believe that the original GameCube controller is the ideal way to play the game. Thankfully, PDP has announced a Nintendo Switch GameCube controller.
The gaming peripheral company is developing a new controller for the Nintendo Switch. It's body and button layout is a near identical copy to that of the Nintendo GameCube controller, but with modern adjustments. This includes a home and screenshot button, as well as the second pair of L and R shoulder buttons standard on Switch controllers. It even comes with a swappable C-stick, allowing users to choose between a normal joystick and the original C-stick nub.
The controller pays extra homage to the popular fighting game. It comes in three themes based on popular Nintendo characters present in the Smash Bros franchise, Link, Mario, and Pikachu. Each has their own color scheme, as well as a badge related to the character on the center. The controller will be connected by a 10-foot USB cord. This was intentioanlly chosen to [ensure] you stay connected during crucial moments while still having plenty of room to move.
No specific date was given as to the product's release, nor the price. Though since Super Smash Bros Ultimate releases on December 7, we will likely know more before then.
