You know, the more I think about it, it seems like Battleborn and Overwatch are opposites. From a narrative perspective, at least: both are multiplayer character based FPS arena combat games with a similar art style. Both are science fiction. both have a colorful cast of whacky, imaginative characters with a heavy focus on story. But while Overwatch takes place in what's ultimately a "utopian" future, and is competitive, Battleborn takes place in such a massively hopeless universe that there's only one star left in the entire universe that hasn't been extinguished, and the heroes are desperately (and cooperatively) fighting to prevent it's death.

That's pretty much the opposite of a utopia.

Anyway. Overwatch is out and having a swinging time being pretty okay, and now it's just time for its narrative opposite to come to the field. We've still got a few months until that happens, but in the meantime, developer 2K has gone ahead and given us just about all the Battleborn information we could possibly want.

Most important among those being the minimum and recommended PC specs: the features don't really matter if you can't play the damn thing. Anyway, here's what they’re looking for--

Minimum System Requirements:
  • OS: Windows 7 x64-Bit or Later
  • CPU: Intel i5-750 / AMD Phenom IIx4 945
  • RAM: 6GB
  • Hard Drive: 30GB free
  • Video Memory: 1 GB
  • Minimum Required Video Card: AMD HD 6870/ NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or better, PhysX support
  • Sound: DirectX 11
  • Input: Keyboard or dual-analog gameplay
Recommended System Requirements:
  • OS: Windows 7 x64-Bit or Later
  • CPU: Intel i5-750 / AMD Phenom IIx4 945
  • RAM: 6GB
  • Hard Drive: 50 GB free
  • Video Memory: 2GB
  • Recommended Video Card: AMD HD 7850/ NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or better, PhysX support
  • Sound: DirectX 11
  • Input: Keyboard or dual-analog gamepad
But it also shared other things: namely, that the game would have split-screen co-op (way to spit in my face there, 2k), a competitive battle mode with three different modes, several different progression trees, and more details about the attacker, defender, and support categories.

Go ahead and check it out here if you so fancy. Otherwise, get those PCs ready!
