PayDay 2 is Coming to The Nintendo Switch

Payday 2 was released back in August of 2013, and surprisingly, it still has quite a dedicated and loyal player base. Perhaps its due to the fact that Payday 2 offers an experience that no other game has been able to offer and the developer. Overkill Software has been consistently adding content to the game and releasing constant bug fixes and balance updates. Payday 2 is still so popular that it's still collaborating with others games years after its initial launch. Recently, it collaborated with Shadow Warrior. 

During Nintendo's Direct stream last night, they announced that Payday 2 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, along with announcing the release dates of Splatoon 2, Arms and the Switch version of Minecraft (July 21, June 16 and May 11). Nintendo didn't share a very specific release date but they did explain that we can expect it to be available this winter. Payday 2 was originally released for the PC, and it's a very popular first-person online shooter, but it hasn't been confirmed what features will be available for the Switch version. Over the past four years, Payday 2 has released a substantial amount of DLC, both free and paid, but no specific content has been confirmed for release to the Switch. Payday 2 is drastically different from its previous vanilla state, and hopefully, the Switch version will stay true to its current state.

Although Nintendo neglected to share any real details, they did vaguely state that "a huge amount of Payday 2 content" will be coming to the Switch. I can see why Nintendo decided to include Payday 2 on its list, since it's a pretty underrated game with a huge amount of available content. It's definitely a bargain in its current state and it's a welcome sight to the Nintendo Switch's barren lineup of game titles. Along with Minecraft, the Switch's lineup is looking a whole lot more promising.
