Overwatch Ranked Glitch Sends Low Rank Players to the Top

A strange Overwatch glitch is sending some of the lowest ranking players to the top of the leaderboards in Ranked Queue. A player named "IzA" from Korea was actively attempting to get his rank lowered. He would repeatedly join games and lose on purpose to keep deranking himself. Maybe he wanted to do a full climb from bottom to top, or maybe he's a YouTuber trying to play with the lowest ranks in order to make his content look better. Honestly, I have no idea what the reasoning behind this was, but I do know the result. At a certain point, he started ranking up back up in the leaderboards even though he was losing. Eventually the game sent him to the very top with a skill rating of 5,000.

While this is strange, this isn't the first time we've heard of this. Another Overwatch deranker, named Dale 'Bacontotem' Brown, dropped all the way down to the rank 1. He continued to lose and went up to rank 100, only to continue losing and suddenly be boosted to 5,000. Blizzard hasn't said anything about this glitch, but it's definitely something that needs to be addressed. People looking for a quick way to the top could easily lose games over and over again until they get glitched all the way to 5,000. At the same time, people that try to do this need to realize that it's actually quite difficult to reach the bottom and if Blizzard patches this, you might just finish this Overwatch season at the bottom of the barrel. If you decide to try it out, you better make sure you're ready for it. It's very easy to see somebody that shouldn't be ranked 5,000 when you're actually playing in a full game of people around that rank. Don't risk it, keep your game going strong, and hopefully Blizzard fixes this up pretty soon.
