Overwatch League Finals To Be Held In Brooklyn's Barclay Center

The Grand Finals for the inaugural season of Overwatch League, the end of the world's first global city-based esports league season, was announced that it will take place at the historic Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, New York. With what is anticipated to be thousands in attendance the Center will open up July 27-28, 2018 for those who have tickets to this monumental event.

With the end of the Overwatch League regular season on Sunday, June 17, the postseason has come upon us with six teams fighting it out starting Wednesday, July 11 in the Blizzard Arena in Burbank. After the playoffs, two finalists will have the chance to win the biggest award in esports history to date in the home of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets. The prize pool of $1.4 million USD, Overwatch League trophy and a place in the esports history books is on the line.

The Grand Finals will determine the champion when one of the two teams wins two best-of-five matches. The first match will be on Saturday, July 28 and continue on that day for the second and potential third match of the finals. Overwatch League commissioner Nate Nanzer had this to say about the event, "The Overwatch League Grand Finals will be an epic experience for fans and viewers."

So much will be put into making sure the fans at home and attending feel immersed in the experience at a world-class level.

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 18 and can be purchased on Ticketmaster or the Barclay Center's website.
