Overwatch players either love or hate Mei. Sometimes, they both love and hate her. She has one of the most unique skillsets in the game. She freezes enemies solid. She builds walls to block literally anything. She can even hop into an invincible ice block for a few seconds (that also heals her). Regardless of how you feel about her, there's one thing everyone can agree on. Mei has been screwed over when it comes to legendary skins. Players could basically choose between a parka, a weird firefighter costume, or a simple santa hat. That has all changed with the Chinese New Year update.
Considering that Mei is from China, she has a lot of focus for Overwatch's Chinese New Year event. This time around, she doesn't get a disappointing special event all to herself, though. Instead, she gets two legendary skins to help celebrate the holiday. Blizzard has given Mei a traditional-style Chinese outfit with all the bells and whistles. The last skin she got for the Christmas event was a simple recolor of her default skin. These new ones, though, are complete reworks with plenty of attention to detail. True, the two skins are recolors of themselves, but the fact that Mei finally has a suitable legendary skin is exciting nonetheless.
Now that Mei is taken care of, maybe Blizzard can now focus on some of the heroes they've been neglecting.
