Overwatch Announces a New Map, Paris

Welp, Overwatch is still a thing. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything really newsworthy from our colorful hero shooter pal, but that all changed yesterday when the Overwatch Twitter decided to reveal that a brand-new map would be arriving in the game. And, like every other map before it, it’ll take us to some semi-futuristic exotic location around the globe. So where will our destination take us this time?

The narrow, twisted streets of Paris, it seems. Otherwise known as the Golden City, the City of Love, or that place where cheese is super expensive.

An assault-based map, Blizzard has gone out of its way to make sure it’s filled with local delights that can distract you from actually winning the game. There’s a cabaret where the lovely Luna performs (she’s famous in Overwatch land, I suppose), patisseries where food is on display, and a fancy gala, perfect for you Roadhog mains. And if you're part of the test server, you can check it out right now.

A new map for Overwatch is always good news, kinda like when they get a new hero, because it adds more variety to a game that’s quickly growing stale. The question is if this map will eventually get some accompanying cinematic: after all, Widowmaker is French, isn’t she? Isn’t this a chance to get some phat lore?
