Overwatch Announces a New Hero, Baptiste

Finally, some good news: Blizzard (you know, the good side of Activision-Blizzard, for the time being) has announced a brand-new hero for their favorite Hero shooter, Overwatch: a combat medic with a troubled past (and the second human male support character), Baptiste.

Let’s all forget our troubles and watch his trailer, shall we?

Mobilize alongside the combat medic who made the shrewd decision to make the world a better place, one bandage... or bullet at a time: Baptiste.

Haha, war orphans. Great stuff, am I right?

We literally know nothing else about this guy, although judging by the “duality” they’re trying to push with the bandage and bullet thing, I’m guessing he’s going to really emphasize the “combat” in “combat medic.” He probably won’t have the kind of direct “one or the other” that, say, Moira has, but right now I’m getting a real “Soldier 76 but his healing aura is super buffed and a healing grenade launcher” kind of vibe.

But again, that’s just the vibe I’m getting. I could be way wrong.

The last bit of new content for the game was a new map, Paris, which was released earlier this month. It seems like the Overwatch team is trying to put out new content a bit more regularly… I wonder if that’s a coincidence.
