Overkill's New The Walking Dead Trailer is Wish Fulfillment

A new trailer is out for Overkill's The Walking Dead, and it scratches an itch that I'm sure many geeks have had, myself included.

The scene starts off with a man (referred to as Aiden) in a suit walking down the street in a metropolitan area. As he listens to his many voicemails, the pressures of the rat race continue to grow on him. The camera zooms into his face as the noise grows.

Suddenly, the onslaught of voicemails stops, he opens his eyes, and we zoom out to see the world he now it is much more derelict than before. Aiden, now dressed in worn out street gear, walks along a road strewn with abandoned vehicles, and miscellaneous trash. Brandishing a wooden bat with nails hammered into the business end, Aiden walks down the road. As the camera pans, we see the dead bodies inside broken cars.

He presses his bat against the horn of a car, honking repeatedly. The sudden, loud noise has attracted the attention of the nearby creatures, zombies! The shuffling undead has begun to gather in front of him. Gripping his bat, he rears back to swing... and the trailer ends.

The trailer perfectly captures that feeling of escaping society and its hardships and becoming a zombie killing badass instead. While I was initially burnt out on the idea of another Walking Dead game, this trailer gives me newfound faith towards what Overkill is going to bring to the table.
