Oculus Pricing Revealed at $600, Pre-Orders Now Up

Welp, we knew it would be expensive... it is the price of a PS3 at launch though.

Today, the preorders for the Oculus Rift are going to be made available, and we didn't know about the price tag until just today, at 11:00 PST. Unfortunately, when the page opened for the Rift, it comes up as an empty white space. Seems less about crashing and more about something else that has gone completely awry. Were they not ready? Perhaps, but perhaps not.

By the way, the Kickstarter backers got extremely lucky, but here's what we know about the Rift pricing:

It's $599, and it's limited to one per customer at the moment. The expected ship date is March of 2016, and it will be including the Headset, Sensor, Oculus Remote, cables, Xbox One Controller, EVE: Valkyrie, and Lucky's Tale.

Do you think VR would be worth this price right now? Suddenly my attention is towards PS VR, it may be a bit cheaper. And there could be better quality games than the birth of PC VR. However, if you have the probably upgrade funds and the $600 to go along with it, you can head over to the preorder page here. The site could still be unstable, so be prepared to use "dat" F5 button.
