Valve isn't the only one working on advancing their VR variety. Oculus has announced the Oculus Quest, the first standalone VR system.
That's right, standalone. No high-end PC, no console, no phone attachment. Heck, no wires even. It's its own thing. It offers the same experience as the current product like the Rift, Vive, and the various Mixed Reality headsets. The game library shouldn't be a problem either. Oculus cites 50 launch titles, including Robo Recall, The Climb, and Moss.
Each eye screen boasts a 1600x1440 resolution, the same as the Oculus Go. It comes with a lens spacing adjuster, built-in audio, and everything else needed to operate on its own.
The Oculus Quest comes with a 64GB Capacity. It's due for release in Spring of 2019 with a price of $399. Should it perform as well as they're making it sound, this could become the best introduction to VR at a good price. Though we won't know for sure until it releases.
