Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to celebrate! The DOTA 2 International is over!

...No, we’re not celebrating it being over, that’s obviously sad. We’re celebrating the winners: Evil Geniuses! They went head-to-head against Chinese juggernauts CDES and stole a 3-1 victory from them. And now the winners--Fear, PPD, Aui, Sumail, and Universe--are millionaires. The prize pool for this international was huge, with Evil Geniuses taking home a whopping 15.2 million dollars. That’s 3 million for each, with $200,000 left over to tip the butler. CDES didn’t walk away with nothing, though: they got a cool 2.8 million, which is more than the grand prizes of most other tournaments, including the League of Legends World Finals.

You can watch the finals, in full, below.

This is cool, obviously—especially since the ultimate pot is the largest in eSports history—but it’s especially gratifying for me because, as a North American, it’s always nice when a North American team managed to win an international… anything, really. We lose so often to Korea and China that taking a victory… man… feels good. Feels right.

You’re up, TSM. Gotta beat the Chinese now to keep our winning streak!
